IP MultiCast
IFRAnet
is providing a robust IP Application concept, which consists of two
IP Systems, for TV and video streaming, as well as telephony for use in IP
based Multipoint Wireless
Ethernet networks.
Background
Internet
Protocol (IP) multicast
is a bandwidth-conserving technology that reduces traffic by
simultaneously delivering a single stream of information to thousands of
corporate recipients and homes. Applications that take advantage of
multicast include IP live TV/Video streaming, VoIP, videoconferencing,
corporate communications, distance learning, and distribution of software,
stock quotes, and news etc.
What’s
IP Multicast
IP
Multicast is a form of network multipoint communications where a single
packet is sent to multiple recipients. In IP Multicast, the network
transmits packets only where necessary to reach each recipient. Only one
copy of a packet will traverse any one-network link - even when there are
multiple recipients on a particular network link.
