Mobile Broadband Access

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

IFRAnet International is a Swedish company working for countries with a lack of telecom infrastructure, e.g. the Middle East and Africa (MEA), and providing two main products.

1.  For Domestic Purpose:
Mobile Broadband Access Networks and Services

2.  For International Purpose:
      Internet & Telecom Carrier Hub

Mobile Broadband Access

IFRAnet is providing Mobile Broadband Access (MBA) Networks and Services to different kinds of network owners. The MBA System is based on the latest technique with the WIMAX open world standard. An MBA network combines two strategic features like no other network does: Mobility AND High-speed.

IFRAnet is helping countries with a great need for telecom infrastructure, since one and the same MBA network, being an IP network, can be used for any kind of communication - voice, data, video etc. - and for a very large number of applications: both mobile and fixed telephony as well as datacom like Internet, VPN (Virtual Private Network) etc.

A Mobile Broadband Access System is also much cheaper (network investments < 300 USD per subscriber) and more flexible than other systems for mobile or fixed networks.

The coming MBA networks based on the WIMAX standard could easily be equally worldwide spread as GSM is today. This enables International roaming between the networks, which means that the subscriber can use his equipment in any country for Internet Access and for Telephony.

Internet Hub

IFRAnet is providing Global Internet Transit (high-speed Internet from targeted countries to the rest of the world) and International Calls by extensive cooperation with suitable telecom carriers such as British Telecom, Telenor and Telia etc. Local telcos and ISPs (Internet Service Providers) shall have the option of a large international capacity, much cheaper than today, for both Internet and Telephony.

IFRAnet will together with partners create the MEA Internet Hub, which would switch all the International Internet and Telephony traffic of the MEA region. This is a project for developing the whole of MEA and not only for a single country, and all MEA countries would benefit on this project. Here local incumbents should not compete but cooperate to get a strong platform in the MEA Hub and together with IFRAnet face the rest of the world.
